Birth Reflection/Trauma Service

3x 1h one-to-one session on Zoom, in your home or in an external venue (extra cost)


If cost is an issue, please let me know.  If you are able to pay extra, this will be used to subsidise a place for another person.

Birth is an incredible experience and often wonderful.  It is normal to experience some challenging feelings too amongst the joy and wonder.  For some Mums, Birthing People, Dads, Birth Partners and, sometimes, Healthcare Professionals; challenging thoughts, feelings and memories of a birth experience, or even feeding experiences early on, can persist.

Where these memories, thoughts and feelings are interfering with daily life or enjoyment of a new baby; help is at hand.

GP, Health Visitor and/or Midwife (UK) may be able to refer to Maternity Mental Health Services or Local Talking Therapies for Assessment.  Sometimes a diagnosis is given; sometimes there is no formal diagnosis, but significant distress persists. 

This can happen even if, on the face of it, the birth seemed straightforward.  We are all unique, complex individuals and can be affected by different aspects of birth.

I have been trained by Mark Harris of Birthing Awareness to support anyone recovering from challenging and/or traumatic memories of birth or early parenting.  I am not a therapist and the service I offer is not therapy.  In fact, it may be useful to complete any therapy before enjoying the Birthing Awareness 3-step rewind course with me. I would be happy to speak with you for free to ascertain if this supportive technique could help you.

The service I offer is a deeply relaxing guided meditation rooted in NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming). It's aim is to disrupt any automatic neurological patterns of response to memories, and other reminders of the experience, that are causing distress and replace them with a response you would prefer.

You are always aware and in control during the process. You can stop at any time.  You do not need to lie down and close your eyes, though many people do choose to.  The process can be completed with you walking round the room if you prefer.

The full service is 3 x 1h one to one sessions with me over Zoom, in your home or at an external venue (at extra cost).

There is no need for you to talk about the difficult or traumatic experience you have had.  I am able to guide you through the process without this knowledge.  If you would like to tell me what happened, I will be happy to listen with a compassionate and non-judgemental ear.

In the first session I will explain the process in detail and we can talk about how you are feeling and whether this process is helpful for you. We would complete a deep relaxation which I record and give to you to practice before the second session.  If after the first session, you decide not to continue with the other sessions, you will receive a full refund but can keep the relaxation recording.
